Amethi Police Recover 86 Stolen and Lost Mobile Phones in Major Surveillance Operation

Amethi Police recover 86 stolen and missing mobile phones worth ₹13 lakh through a joint surveillance and SWAT team operation. Traced across multiple districts and states using technical surveillance, the recovery brings major relief to victims and highlights technology-driven policing success.

In a significant breakthrough, the Amethi Police have successfully recovered 86 mobile phones that were either stolen or reported missing, marking a major achievement in technology-driven crime control. The operation, carried out through coordinated efforts between the district’s surveillance unit and the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, has brought relief to dozens of victims who had long lost hope of retrieving their devices.

According to police officials, the recovered mobile phones are collectively valued at approximately ₹13 lakh. What makes the operation particularly notable is its geographical scope. The devices were traced not only across multiple districts of Uttar Pradesh but also in other states, underscoring the increasingly interstate nature of mobile theft networks.

The Superintendent of Police, Amethi, stated that the recoveries were made strictly on the basis of registered First Information Reports (FIRs). Advanced technical surveillance methods were employed to track the devices, allowing teams to identify their locations and recover them through coordinated field action. The police emphasized that systematic monitoring and data analysis played a critical role in the success of the operation.

For residents who had reported their phones stolen or lost, the recovery has come as a welcome surprise. Many had assumed their complaints would yield little result, but the operation has reinforced confidence in the police administration’s ability to respond effectively to technology-related crimes.

The Amethi Police administration has reiterated its commitment to continuing such surveillance-based operations in the future. Officials noted that sustained efforts of this kind are essential not only to provide relief to victims but also to deter theft and strengthen public trust in law enforcement. The recovery drive stands as a reminder of how targeted use of technology can significantly enhance policing outcomes in an increasingly digital society.
